Signs That God Is Listening

Signs that God is listening

When you pray, do you see any signs that show God is listening to your prayers? The Bible in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 instructs us to pray without ceasing. But as you pray, does God listen? Does He listen to your voice and your cry? And, does He listen to you when you pour out your heart in prayer? My answer to you is, God listens to you. He listens to your voice, your prayers and your cry. In fact, God is listening to you right now; He listens to the words you cannot express. God listens to your heart, to your thoughts and to your emotions. He listened to Hannah when she prayed out of anguish and helplessness.

1 Samuel 1:12-13 (NKJV) – “And it happened, as she continued praying before the Lord, that Eli watched her mouth. Now Hannah spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard.”

God listened to Hannah and met the desires of her heart. He can listen to the groaning of your heart and to the prayers in your heart. God listens to us in our darkest moments, and all the time. His ears are attentive to the voices of His people.

Psalms 34:15 (NKJV) reads, “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.”

God listens, and there are many signs that can prove to us that God is listening. Therefore, when you go before Him in prayer, be sure that He will listen to your voice.

How Do You Know God Is Listening to You? Signs That God Is Listening

·        God Is Listening to You When You Have Confidence in Your Prayers

1 John 5:14 (NKJV) – “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”

God is a faithful God who listens to everyone who approaches Him in humility. It doesn’t matter if you are a sinner, young or old. As long as you go to Him with a humble heart, He will listen to you. He listens to prayers on repentance and confessions, prayers for blessings, intercessions, and all that we pray for. Therefore, you need to approach Him with confidence knowing that He will listen to you regardless of your status.

The knowledge that God is listening or will listen to any kind of request you present to Him will make you confident. It is like going into an exam room knowing that you are going to answer everything correctly because you prepared for it. This confidence in you is one of the signs that God is listening to your prayers. And, that is the confidence that we should have when we pour out our hearts to Him.

·        A Conviction to Start Living a Holy Life Is a Sign That God Listens to You

Psalms 66:18-19 (NKJV) – “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear. But certainly God has heard me; He has attended to the voice of my prayer.”

The Bible in Isaiah 59:2 says that it is sin that prevents God from hearing the voices of His people. However, those who live a holy and righteous life are always heard by God when they pray. The voice of a righteous person is like incense before God. When you genuinely devote yourself in prayer, the Spirit of God will direct your heart to the paths of righteousness. He will lead you to live a life that pleases God. God will position you in a place where He can hear your voice, and take it as a sweet aroma. Therefore, one of the signs that God is listening is when you set your mind on holiness and righteousness.

·        Revelations, Grace and Breakthroughs Are Signs That God Is Listening to You

Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV) – “Call to me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”

Whenever you pray, there is always something that God will do to prove that He is listening to you. He can reveal this by granting you the grace to handle things you never thought you could do. You could be praying for a miracle, but God grants you the wisdom to work and achieve whatever you desire in your heart. God may use breakthroughs in your life as one of the signs that He is listening to you. When you pray for specific blessings, like Hannah, that is what you may get as proof that God listens to you.

In Jeremiah 33:3, He assures you that He will answer you when you call on Him. He will answer you because He listens. And, that’s not all. He says that to prove to you that He listens, He will show you things you do not know. When you start receiving revelations about different things, they are signs that God is listening.

·        God Will Grant You Your Requests as a Sign That He Listens

1 John 5:15 (NKJV) – “And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”

If you ask your child to bring you a pen from the drawer, they can only do it if they listened to you. Likewise, God meets our needs because He listens to us when we talk to Him through prayer. He will do to you according to your faith, and according to the requests that you present before Him. Jesus performed many miracles to different people in the Bible because He listened to their pleas. He healed those who asked Him for healing, and delivered those who needed deliverance. God is still on the throne, longing to hear your voice calling on Him. He is ready to grant your requests even though they may not come in ways that you expect them to come. Therefore, when you notice signs of answered prayers, know that they are signs that God is always listening to you when you pray.
