We all yearn for signs of confirmation from God when we pray or pursue something. However, not all of us are very alert in the spirit. Thus, we may not tell when God sends signs of confirmation. The Bible in Proverbs 16:9 (NIV) says, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” God is the one who establishes all the plans of man. In other words, God must confirm all your plans for them to succeed. But, how does God confirm your plans? How do you know that God has confirmed something in your life? What does God do or say in confirmation? And, what are the signs of the Holy Spirit’s presence in confirmation? 

During the baptism of Jesus in Matthew 3:16-17, God confirmed through the Holy Spirit that Jesus was His beloved son. He confirmed to the world that Jesus was the Savior He had promised through the prophets. There are many ways through which God showed signs of confirmation to different people in the Bible. In 1 Kings 18:44-45, God confirmed to Elijah that there will be rain through a cloud as small as a man’s hand. Additionally, when Hannah was praying for a child, there were signs of confirmation from God. God confirmed to Hannah through Eli that He had heard her prayers. There were also signs of confirmation from God in the life of Gideon. Gideon asked God to prove to him that He was going to hand their enemies to them. God confirmed this to Gideon by doing exactly what Gideon had requested, Judges 6:36-40.

As believers, we yearn for signs of confirmation from God as we seek His guidance and assurance in our endeavors. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 16:9 (NIV) that while we may plan our course, it is the Lord who establishes our steps. Understanding how God confirms our plans and discerning the signs of His presence is essential in our walk with Him. Just as God confirmed His will throughout biblical history, He continues to reveal Himself and confirm His plans to us today.

Through a Dream

Dreams can act as a means through which God confirms His will. Often, these dreams address our fears, uncertainties, or things we suspect deep within our hearts. As we seek God’s guidance in prayer, He may choose to speak to us through the medium of dreams. This provides clarity and assurance regarding specific matters. Therefore, never ignore the message of God that comes to you through your dreams. Most of them bear signs of confirmation from God concerning important aspects of your life.

Signs of Confirmation from God May Come Through Other People

Throughout the Bible, God frequently used other people to communicate His confirmation. In 2 Kings 20:1-6, Hezekiah pleaded with God to heal him. God, through prophet Isaiah confirmed to Hezekiah that he will receive healing and live for 15 more years. Similarly, in our lives today, God can employ the wisdom, counsel, and words of trusted individuals to confirm His plans. Therefore, paying attention to the godly counsel of those around us can help discern God’s direction.

God Sends Signs of His Confirmation Through Physical Signs

God often confirms His plans through tangible signs in our daily lives. These signs can manifest as open doors, favorable circumstances, or even unexpected encounters that align with the path we are pursuing. By observing these occurrences and recognizing them as God’s hand at work, we can find reassurance in His confirmation.

Breakthroughs and Grace Are Signs of Confirmation from God

Signs of confirmation from God may also come in the form of breakthroughs, particularly in areas like businesses and ministries. When we experience remarkable success or our efforts flourish beyond our expectations, it can serve as a confirmation from God. These are confirmation signs from God that He is blessing and directing our endeavors.

God’s confirmation is also found in the provision of grace in various aspects of our lives, including our careers, ministries, and relationships. When we encounter divine favor, receive unmerited opportunities, or witness God’s enabling power, we can perceive His confirmation that we are on the right path.

When Bad Things Start Happening in Relationships

At times, signs of God’s confirmation may surface through difficult circumstances or challenges we face. These situations can prompt us to reevaluate our choices or seek His guidance more earnestly. God can use a challenge in your relationship to confirm that your partner is not the right one for you. Through this challenge, you may learn things you would never have known about your partner. Therefore, be alert to the signs of confirmation from God if she/he is the one for you.

Inner Peace Is a Sign of Confirmation from God

The Word of God assures us in Psalm 119:165 that those who love His law experience great peace. When God confirms His plans, He often accompanies it with a deep sense of inner peace within our hearts. This peace surpasses human understanding and serves as a reliable indicator of God’s confirmation and presence.

Proverbs 10:22 (NIV) – “The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, without painful toil for it.”

Furthermore, He will provide the confidence and assurance we need to navigate life’s decisions. Remember, God’s confirmation is not always immediate or easily discernible. It requires patience, prayer, and a heart surrendered to His will. May we always remain open to the signs of confirmation provides, and allow His wisdom to guide us.
