Isaiah 30:21 (NKJV) reads, “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it.” Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.” God cannot let His children get confused on whether it is time to move or not. When the time is right, He will talk to us in a gentle voice. You must be spiritually alert to heart this voice lest you deviate from the plan and will of God.

Sometimes we tend to get stuck in one place doing the normal things that we do every day. In such situations, it is hard for us to experience growth and expansion in different aspects of our lives. Doing the same thing every day may become boring, and it may lead to stagnation in life. This is not the will of God for us. He wants us to prosper and succeed in our endeavors so that we may testify of His goodness in the land of the living. Therefore, He brings new opportunities our way. These opportunities are His signs that we need to get moving. They are signs that God wants us to take a different path and a new direction. When opportunities knock, do not ignore them. Rather, embrace them and take the bold step of faith to move to where God wants you to be.
A Shift of Passion is One of the Signs That God Is Moving You in a New Direction
Who doesn’t love doing what they are good at? We experience joy in doing what we love most. Many may be tempted to think that this is their final destination. But God may have a different plan for us. Peter was a great fisherman; He was skilled and passionate about this job. However, God had a very different plan for Him. After catching a great multitude of fish at the word of Jesus, He experienced a change in passion. When Jesus asked Peter to follow Him, He left everything and followed Him without questioning. Peter’s passion changed from a great fisherman to a fisher of men. In the scriptures, we read how Peter passionately spread the gospel of God.
There are many people in the Bible who experienced a shift in their passions and moved in the direction of God. This may happen to you too. You may pursue a course thinking that it is your final call because you are passionate about it. However, God may change everything and move you along a different path. Therefore, whenever you feel like you are losing passion in something, don’t fret. It is likely one of the signs God is moving you in a new direction.
Situations That Are Beyond Your Control May Happen to Push You to a New Direction
Romans 8:28 says that all thigs happen for our good. However, not all of us see anything good in a bad situation. We associate all challenges with the devil, bad luck and sorrow. But do you know that God can use a negative occurrence to move you into something better? God can use a situation that is beyond your control to move you to a bigger blessing. Sometimes we are too blind to notice the signs of God moving us in a new direction. Other times, we are too adamant to the call to move. When this happens, God can use a challenge to move us.
So, when situations that are beyond your control come your way, God has not left you. Do not ask, ‘why me Lord?’ It is one of the signs God is moving you in a new direction. Find out where God wants you to go and move.
You Experience Restlessness in Your Current Position
The peace of God guards our hearts wherever we go. In Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV), God says, “Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” God asks us to fear not because He is there to help us and to strengthen us. But, why do we feel restless sometimes? You may not have the strengthen to continue staying in a certain position because God wants you to move.
Additionally, you may not feel His help when He wants you to shift to a new direction. This restlessness may persist until you respond to God’s call and move in a different path. This may happen in our careers, jobs, life choices and businesses. Therefore, when you experience restlessness, do not always go to pray against it. Rather, have some quiet time of meditation and listen to God’s voice. This is because it is one of the signs that God wants to move you in a new direction.
You Face Rejection
Rejection does not always mean that the person rejecting us is bad. Rather, they do so to you so that God’s perfect plan for you may fall into place. This may happen in our places of work, relationships and other places. In Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV), God says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord. “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”” God’s plans may emotionally hurt us, but they cannot harm us. Instead, they work for our good and to give us hope and a future.
Rejection is painful and hurtful, but if it is the plan of God, it cannot ruin us. God may use it to move us to a new level of blessing or to a better relationship. He knows the plans He has for you, and He know where He wants you to move to. Trust the process, embrace the change, and wait for Him to position you where He wants you to be. Therefore, when people reject you, do not look down on yourself. Instead, be thankful that God loves you enough to move you to a better place.
